INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL
Quality assurance happens to be a continuous process and pursuit of high quality is the hallmark of progressive educational institution. For this purpose Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is created in CBIT.The IQAC being an integral part of the college works towards realizing the goals of Quality enhancement by developing a system for conscious,consistent & catalytic improvement in different aspects of functioning of the college.

Functions of IQAC

  • Development and application of quality bench marks / parameters in various activities of the university.
  • Creating awareness on quality aspects.
  • Organization of discussions and promotion of quality circles.
  • Recoding and monitoring of quality measures of the institution.

Objectives

  1. To ensure maintenance of quality as per the standards enforced by various accrediting agencies like NAAC and ISO.
  2. To chalk out the plan of action at the beginning of the year, conduct mid-session reviews and the outcome achieved at the end of the year towards quality enhancement.
  3. To conduct periodic internal audits for reviewing the quality management system.
  4. To maintain a liaison and establish network with individuals and organizations connected with quality assurance in the field of education.
  5. To collect feedback from the students regarding various facilities and services being provided in the college and make improvements in the light of the feedback.
  6. To disseminate information on quality aspects and innovative practices through workshops, seminars, conferences, guest lectures, training programs and promotion of quality circles
  7. To ensure effective implementation of quality processes with proper documentation as enshrined in the quality manual.
  8. To furnish progress reports to the accrediting agencies regarding the achievements and continuous improvement of the college in terms of quality standards.
  9. To provide consultancy for quality assurance in collaboration with other institutions and accrediting agencies.

Goals and Functions of IQAC

As highlighted in the UGC Guidelines, the goals of IQAC shall be:
1)To develop a quality system for conscious, consistent and catalytic programmed action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the College; and,
2)To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

The IQAC shall have the following functions

o Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the College;
o Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;
o Arrangement for feedback responses from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
o Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education;
o Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles;
o Documentation of the various programs/activities of the College, leading to quality improvement;
o Acting as a nodal agency of the College for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of good practices;
o Development and maintenance of Institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality;
o Development of Quality Culture in the College;
o Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) of the College based on the quality parameters/assessment criteria developed by the relevant quality assurance body (like NAAC, NBA, AB) in the prescribed format;
o Bi-annual development of Quality Radars (QRs) and Ranking of Integral Units of College based on the AQAR;
o Interaction with SQACs in the pre and post accreditation quality assessment, sustenance and enhancement endeavors
